A reflection in the mirror

When I look into a mirror I ask myself what is happening in America. Will I lose my job, retirement at Delphi? How could this happen? Who's fault is it? Is It GM/Delphi and the UAW International Executive Boards fault. I say yes!

But then that image in the mirror tells me that I'm only partially correct. It tells me to take a good look and I will see who's allowed this to happen. I wanted to have someone else to do my talking for me. It was easier that way. The UAW could handle my management problems and get my raises, benefits, and a happy comfortable retirement for me. I could elect politicans and they could talk for me. They could set the laws of the land for me and I could just set back and enjoy. In theory it was a good idea. Then I found out that I had to talk and no one would listen to me. Everything had changed and I had lost my voice. Was there warnings? There sure was. PATCO and the firing of the air traffic controllers, Kmart, the steel industry and on and on. I chose to ignore those very telling signs because it could never happen to me. WRONG! Today it's happening to me and tomorrow it's going to be happening to you. But, I ask my reflection how can I stop it now?

My reflection tells me to "GET YOUR VOICE BACK.WHEN YOU CAN LEARN TO TALK FOR YOURSELF AGAIN, YOU CAN CHANGE THINGS. YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO CHANGE THEM OVERNIGHT BECAUSE IT HAS TAKEN A LONG TIME TO LOSE YOUR VOICE. BUT YOU CAN START USING THAT VOICE TO CHANGE WHAT YOU HAVE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN. YOUR VOICE CAN BE HEARD AND MANY VOICES CAN UNDO WHAT HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO HAPPEN. NEVER ALLOW ANYONE TO SPEAK FOR YOU AGAIN UNLESS YOU MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT THEY SAY.

I feel that the image in the mirror has given me some good advice and made me see why all of these problems are confronting me. I will try to keep my voice from now on.
